I didn't think that much of this shot in colour, but quite like
the B&W. What do you think? Too busy in the foreground, or
effective? I find it interesting to look at, all the angles,
lines and stairs etc.

Small piece of Piggins trivia - Queen Victoria's grandchildren
called her "Gangan" instead of grandma etc. My brother and I
also called my grandmother, who loved the royal family,
"Gan-gan". Brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it?

Moving right along...

The Needles rock formation, lighthouse and battery. Man, it was
sooo windy out there. I had to wrap my arm around a fence post
to stabilise myself for some of these. I had so much going on
trying to concentrate - wind, worried about exposure with the
white cliffs, haze. Not really happy with the results, but
meh...

And finally this really cool medieval church on top of the hill
at Godshill. Was instantly liking this place. Gravestones right
up to the building on all sides, stark trees with heaps of crows
nests and crows in the trees - ooooh, spooky.

In other words : with a 4GB memory card, the manual states I can
register 44 minutes of movies.

For the last week or so, *every* email spam that's made it past
server-side filters and into my local spam folder has been a 419 scam or a
variant of a 419. I haven't seen a *single* male enlargement or
prescription drug spam -- and that and "I'm a bored single girl" spam had
been all I'd been getting for some time; no 419s at all. Has anyone else
experienced this shift back to the Nigerian scam?

Yes-except it's a proprietary one. My canon pixma iP 4300 came bundled with
some software that lets you print 4 4X5"s on a single letter sized (A4)
sheet, it doesn't work in Linux , though. (PS my samsung 20" syncmaster 206
BW came on Monday, good for my poor eyesight).

Maybe even an information source for burglars. Mark your equipment with
your driver's license number and save the info someplace safe. If it's lost
or stolen the info is available for reporting to the police. Most items
will be recovered close to the the area where it was lost or stolen.

I'm looking for a larger monitor than my current 17" CRT. That will mean a
flat screen one - and I believe there are now two technologies to choose
from. Which is the one to look at?

Also, I read that cheaper monitors can't be calibrated to match the colour
input from the camera or the output from the printer. I also read that I
need 14 bit resolution to match my camera and a digital video card in my
computer.

Can anyone recommend a good site where I can read about the subject. I've
Googled round and round but haven't found anything that looks authoritative.
I'm in the UK if anyone knows of a decent shop/dealer within 100 miles of
Mid Wales.
