Hi All,
I read an interesting article writen by Brad Hinkel in Jan/Feb issue
of View camera concerning using the new Epson 2200 printer to output
digital negatives for contact printing. Has one tried this? Are the
negatives really sharp? Are their and banding issues? Other sources of
information?

Many Thanks
Nelson

This practice seems to work for a lot of people. Brad is doing a presentation
of his methods at the View Camera Conference in April in Monterey.

Try www.danburkholder.com for more information. I've been doing it for a
while and it works very well.

Sherman, do you contact print on platinum or regular (glossy) FB silver
paper? I've heard that what works well for platinum does not
necessarily work that well for silver.

I've been contact printing on silver-gelatin paper and POP paper. For
silver-gelatin I find I can take an image that would print nicely on my 7600
and make a good digital negative without adjusting contrast or density. For
POP paper I have to make the negative denser and slightly more contrasty.
It is my understanding that platinum requires even more density than POP
paper.
